The minister extended gratitude to the contractor for its excellent construction work, wishing that it would continue its efforts for the rest of the project, to relieve Algeria’s shortage of grain storage and improve the country’s self-sufficiency in grain.”

Built by a subsidiary of POWERCHINA, the concrete granary project covers nine provinces of Algeria, with total storage capacity of 350,000 tons. Each granary is designed with the storage capacity of 30,000 tons or 50,000 tons. Funded by Algeria government, the project is Algeria’s first large-scale one over four decades.

As the first part of the project, the 50,000-ton Constantine granary is equipped with 16 cylindrical concrete silos, with a total height of 54 meters.
