POWERCHINA's subsidiary -- Sinohydro Engineering Bureau 7 -- donated 50,000 Sudanese pounds ($11,355) to flood refugees in Sudan.
Some regions and states in Sudan suffered severe flooding during the rainy season this year. The persistent heavy rains caused large scale damage on buildings and infrastructure, such as roads. Hundreds were injured or killed.
The donation was organized by the Chinese embassy and economic counselor's office. Chinese enterprises in Sudan actively participated in the event. The donation shows POWERCHINA's compassion for the refugees. Local newspapers with significant influence published a list of enterprises that participated in the donation and expressed their gratitude.
