POWERCHINA completes post-disaster reconstruction in Yushu

Post-disaster reconstruction of Yushu was completed on November 3 after three years of work. It was the largest reconstruction project ever conducted in a high altitude region in the world, and it faced great difficulty.

 
POWERCHINA actively participated in the recovery of housing, infrastructure, ecological environment and special industries in the western area of Jiegu town. It was also in charge of reconstruction of housing for 1,103 farmers and herdsmen in Xiaosumang village, Yushu county, and Xiewu town, Chenggu county. The reconstruction covered a total area of 867,800 square meters and cost 3.52 billion yuan ($580 million).
 

 
In less than two years, POWERCHINA completed construction of 1,248 planned projects with accumulated investment of 44.44 billion yuan, creating a new commercial land tourist destination on the snow-covered plateau and opening a new chapter for local life.
