Wang Bin meets Kenyan Vice President

Wang Bin, Vice President of POWERCHINA, met with William Ruto, the Vice President of Kenya on July 5 at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, to discuss cooperation opportunities.

Charles Keter, the Kenyan Energy Cabinet Secretary, James Macharia, the Kenyan Transport Cabinet Secretary, Song Dongsheng, Deputy Chief Economist of POWERCHINA and General-Manager of POWERCHINA International, Du Chunguo, General-Manager of POWERCHINA Resources, Liang Jun, Vice President of POWERCHINA International and General-Manager of regional headquarters in Southeast Africa, attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Wang Bin introduced Vice President Ruto to the profile of POWERCHINA and its business operations in Kenya; he also expressed thanks to the deputy president, and energy and transport ministries of Kenya for their support of POWERCHINA in the country. Wang Bin pointed out that POWERCHINA will take an active role in Kenya's development by taking advantage of its whole industrial chain. Vice President Ruto introduced Wang Bin to the 2020 power and infrastructure plan of Kenya and expressed the hope for POWERCHINA to play a positive role in promoting the plan.

The two sides also discussed issues such as energy, power grids, hydropower, water conservation, and transportation, agreeing in many areas.
