Bolivian President Evo Morales inspected the construction site of the San Jose hydropower project being constructed by POWERCHINA on Feb 26. It was the president's third visits to the site since construction began.

Morales gave high praise for POWERCHINA's efforts in honoring the agreement, and expressed the hope that POWERCHINA will ensure high construction quality and complete the project early so that Bolivian people can enjoy its benefits sooner.
Morales inspected construction of the main diversion tunnel and the dam. The tunnel is currently undergoing concrete lining, and things are going smoothly as planned. The president made detailed inquiries about the lining process, the quality of the tunnel, related safety measures, and the progress of its construction.

Then, Morales visited the reservoir area, where he inspected construction of the vertical shaft, dam and tail water channelization project, and asked about the project's design, funding and supervision. He asked the project owner to pay close attention to design changes, funding arrangement and social interactions, enhance supervision, and create a good organizational environment for the Chinese constructors.
Bolivian officials of energy, petroleum, electricity and strategic development accompanied the president during his inspection, which attracted journalists from more than 20 mainstream media organizations.
