Dawo wind power project earns first revenue from Pakistan

Updated: August 16,2017

The Dawo wind power project of Power Construction Corporation of China (POWERCHINA) received its first revenue of $370,600 from the Pakistan Central Power Purchase Agency (CPPA) on July 28. The remainder due under the project will be paid in the near future.

The Dawo project is one of 14 POWERCHINA priority projects in the construction of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor. It is also the earliest project to finish financing and start construction.

The project is located 70 kilometres east of Karachi, Pakistan, with a total installed capacity of 49.5 megawatts. It started to generate electricity on April 4, and its power production had reached 49.62 million kilowatts by June 30.

The project has met its expected revenue and is operating properly and stably. It is a model for POWERCHINA in investing further in wind power overseas, and guides exploitation and development of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor.
