The completion ceremonies of upgrading for Puge–Tabora Road and Manyoni–Itigi–Chaya Road in Tanzania were held on July 24 and 25, with Tanzanian President John Magufuli in attendance.
The two upgrading projects were constructed by STECOL Corp, a subsidiary of POWERCHINA. The company won acclaim from the president during his speech at the ceremony. He expressed his appreciation for the company's contribution to improving local infrastructure and economic development.
The Puge–Tabora Road has a total length of 56.1 kilometers. The project has helped improve local traffic and livelihood.
On July 25, the Tanzania President John Magufuli cut the ribbon to celebrate the completion of the Manyoni–Itigi–Chaya Road upgrading project.
At the speech, the president spoke highly of the project and pledged that the government will step up efforts to increase other infrastructure such as electricity and water supply.
Manyoni–Itigi–Chaya Road, with a length of 89.3 km, is a key road that connects Manyoni with Tabora province. Thus the upgrading of the road will play a significant role in optimizing local traffic.
To date STECOL Corp has undertaken multiple road projects in Tanzania, covering 1,400 km in total.
