Li Yanming, vice general manager of POWERCHINA visited the Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, who came to China to attend the Boao Economic Forum in Sanya, Hainan province on April 9.

They held a meeting to exchange views on deepening cooperation in fields such as energy and infrastructure, after which POWERCHINA signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with the Pakistani enterprises.

At the meeting, Li briefly introduced POWERCHINA and its full industrial chain, pointing out that the company has been deeply involved in the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, such as the China-Pakistan electric power planning and eight projects involved in the Corridor since tapping into the Pakistani market in 1987.

POWERCHINA promotes a localization strategy in overseas projects, Li said, adding that about 90 percent of workers for the projects are Pakistanis and the company is active in public service and disaster relief.

It will take full advantage of its strength and be capable of integrating capital, technology and human resources to advance projects, Li stated.

Abbasi said the Qasim Coal Power Station invested and constructed by POWERCHINA is renowned in Pakistan and his country is vigorously promoting cooperation projects on gas and oil to improve people's lives.

He hoped POWERCHINA would continue its cooperation with Pakistani enterprises in more fields with its experience in electric power.
