Yan Zhiyong, president of POWERCHINA, attended the Arab States Energy Interconnection and "Belt and Road" Forum in Beijing on June 28 and delivered a speech.
Jointly sponsored by the Global Energy Interconnection Development Cooperation Organization and the League of Arab States, the forum invited some 100 government officials, business leaders and experts to discuss the development of clean energy and energy interconnection.
In his speech, Yan noted that clean and renewable energy can gradually replace fossil fuels. In addition to traditional energy, Arab countries also have rich solar and wind energy resources. Located at the intersection of Asia, Africa and Europe, Arab countries have great potential in revolutionizing new energy and improving energy interconnection.
As a global leader in power construction, POWERCHINA is committed to developing clean energy and will strengthen exchange and cooperation with Arab countries and global organizations in order to contribute to solving problems like climate change and promote the sustainable development of human society.
The forum adopted an initiative to promote clean energy development and energy interconnection in the Arab region. The Global Energy Interconnection Development Cooperation Organization and the League of Arab States signed relevant cooperation agreements at the event.
