Staff members from a Thailand project of Jiangxi Water and Hydropower Construction Co Ltd aided in rescue efforts after two tour boats carrying 127 Chinese tourists sank off the coast of Phuket, Thailand, on July 5.
Upon hearing of the accident, the working team at the Phuket 500kV Transmission Line Project held an urgent meeting and prepared water, food and vehicles to help in the rescue.
Considering the accident involved many Chinese tourists and their families, the company also sent five bilingual experts to serve the families of victims and the injured.
The Chinese consulate-general in Songkhla pledged to do all they can to search for more survivors and provide help to the tourists and their families.
