William Ruto, vice-president of Kenya, visited the construction site for the 193 section of the Kenyan Country Road project undertaken by STECOL Corporation, a subsidiary of POWERCHINA, on July 6.

After listening to the progress report for the project, Ruto expressed satisfaction and appreciation for STECOL's efforts and contribution to the construction of infrastructure for local people.

The project has created many jobs for local residents, provided construction training to local employees and has cultivated a group of technical personnel for road construction.

Located across Kakamega county and Siaya county, the 193 section of the Kenyan Country Road project covers 57 kilometers and serves as a part of Kenya's 10,000-kilometer road plan. So far, 26.6 kilometers have been completed. The road is expected to greatly relieve local traffic pressure and provide transportation support for local economic development.
