POWERCHINA chairman meets Russia's RusHydro delegation

On Nov 28, Yan Zhiyong, chairman of POWERCHINA, met a delegation from Russia's hydropower company RusHydro led by the company's board chairman and general manager Nikolai Shulginov.

The two parties discussed strengthening cooperation in the power sector and signed a cooperation agreement.

Yan extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation. He commented on the fact that China and Russia have frequent high-level exchanges and have established a partnership built on trust, mutual support, common prosperity and friendship.

He stated that China's POWERCHINA and Russia's RusHydro are both large state-owned enterprises with many strengths. They have a responsibility to promote the economic development of the two countries.

Yan expressed his hopes that the cooperation between the two enterprises would help drive the economic development of Russia and China.

He recounted the excellent performance and professional strength of POWERCHINA, as well as the company's rich experience with pumped storage power stations and new energy.

He also answered questions raised by visitors and hoped the two companies could enhance cooperation in the fields of electricity and new energy.

Shulginov recognized the achievements of POWERCHINA and was eager to strengthen cooperation between the two parties.

He briefed the audience on RusHydro and proposed some ideas for developing related electric power projects.

He also said that RusHydro hopes to draw on POWERCHINA's experience in new energy and pumped storage power stations to carry out relevant projects, and gradually promote further cooperation between the two parties through the establishment of a working group.
