The Prime Minister said that the anticipated project will help improve medical and community services in Antigua and Barbuda.
He was pleased that the Chinese government assigned an esteemed international engineering enterprise like STECOL to the project.
He believes that the project will play a positive role in future bilateral cooperation between China and Antigua and Barbuda.
The two community centers are POWERCHINA and STECOL's first projects in the Americas, making them an important step toward expansion into the region.
The two community centers will be built in Saint John's and Saint Philip. The main buildings will include a community clinic, service center, office and supporting facilities.
The construction contract was signed in May 2018. With the help of the Chinese Embassy in Antigua and Barbuda and the project department, problems related to changes in construction land in Antigua and Barbuda have been resolved.
After construction officially starts, the project department will take full advantage of STECOL's capabilities.
It will integrate resources, ensure compliance, establish a positive corporate image and provide a solid foundation for STECOL's cultivation of the market in the Americas.
