Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz visited the construction site of the TANIT Fishing Port project undertaken by POWERCHINA Harbour Co on Dec 10, where he cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony of the fishing port.
Officials from Mauritania's government and military, including the Minister of Transport, the Minister of Fisheries and the Director of the President's Cabinet, attended the event accompanied by the main leaders of POWERCHINA's Mauritania branch.

Mauritanian people sang and danced to welcome the President in the fishery trading area of the fishing port,
During the inspection, Mauritania's Transport Minister introduced in detail the achievements of the construction of the fishing port project and praised the work style and efficiency of POWERCHINA.
President Aziz congratulated those involved on the successful completion of the fishing port project and expressed gratitude to POWERCHINA for its efforts during the period.
He also visited the operating generator plant, desalination plant and related ice making equipment, and personally tasted the fresh water produced by the desalination plant.

Subsequently, President Aziz inspected the breakwaters, upright piers, high-pillar wharfs and floating piers that are qualified for docking in the port construction area.
When inspecting the operating 150T shiplift, the President pointed out that Mauritania is in the midst of a boom in infrastructure construction. He hoped that POWERCHINA will make persistent efforts to contribute to the economic growth of Mauritania.
