The Tanzanian newspaper Zanzibar ran a front-page report on the unveiling of the Zanzibar water supply project undertaken by STECOL Corporation, a subsidiary of POWERCHINA, on Feb 13.
Ali Mohamed Shein, president of Tanzania's Zanzibari Government of National Unity, attended the unveiling ceremony.
In its headline, Zanzibar wrote, "President Shein: We will solve the problem of water supply in Zanzibar," and spoke highly of the water supply project.

President Shein and his party visited the project on Feb 12. They listened to the overall planning and design of the project, as well as the current construction progress report.
They inspected two major construction areas, including a 1000-cubic-meter elevated tank and a 2000-cubic-meter elevated tank.
They were satisfied with the current construction progress and quality of the project, expressing appreciation for the on-site environment, safety management, and standardized production.
They highly praised the project department for hiring local employees, protecting local cultural relics and historic sites, and helping local residents by renovating roads.
