Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Foreign Minister of Pakistan, visited the PKM project department of POWERCHINA’s subsidiary Sinohydro Bureau 7 Co on March 9, 2019.
The Peshawar-Karachi Motorway (PKM) Project in Pakistan starts from Karachi, Pakistan’s largest city, in the south and ends at Peshawar in the north, an important town adjacent to Afghanistan.
It is one of the largest transportation infrastructure projects in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and will enable Pakistan to serve as a pillar for interconnectivity in the region when completed.
The project manager briefed Quereshi on the construction progress and measures taken to ensure smooth construction. The manager also extended gratitude for the minister’s visit and Pakistan’s support to the project, pledging that the company will continue efforts to participate in Pakistan’s infrastructure construction and contribute to China-Pakistan friendship.

According to the minister, China and Pakistan enjoys a stable and reliable friendship and that Pakistan will strive to protect the security of Chinese people in Pakistan. In addition, he showed appreciation to the contribution of Chinese workers to the PKM project and spoke highly of the project’s quality and rapid construction.
