A disaster relief donation ceremony, organized by the China Chamber of Commerce in Mozambique, was held at the headquarters of the National Disaster Relief Bureau of Mozambique on the morning of March 27.
POWERCHINA-Intl, Sinohydro Bureau 9 Co, Sinohydro Bureau 11 Co, SEPCO Electric Power Construction Co, and POWERCHINA Jiangxi Electric Power Construction Co donated a total of 160,000 yuan ($23,842) to the Mozambique government through the Chamber of Commerce.
At the donation ceremony, the representative of POWERCHINA-Intl discussed POWERCHINA's participation in the rescue work with the Chinese Ambassador to Mozambique Su Jian and Counselor Liu Xiaoguang. Su affirmed POWERCHINA’s initiative of actively participating in the rescue operation and providing financial donations, and expressed his appreciation for POWERCHINA in actively fulfilling its social responsibility as a State-owned enterprise.

After the ceremony, the representative of POWERCHINA-Intl accepted an interview with TVM, the mainstream TV station in Mozambique, and introduced POWERCHINA's rescue and donation work after the disaster.
Since entering the Mozambique market in 2004, POWERCHINA has contracted several road and pipe network water supply projects. Due to their good performance and the organization’s high sense of responsibility, it has been widely recognized by the local community.
While driving local economic development, POWERCHINA has also contributed to the good image of Chinese enterprises in Mozambique.
In the future, POWERCHINA will continue to work together with the people of Mozambique and actively assist the Mozambican government in carrying out post-disaster reconstruction so that those affected can return to their homes as soon as possible.
