Located in southern Uganda, the Isimba Hydroelectric Power Station is expected to ease Ugandan power supply shortages and also increase the city’s flood control capacity.

Financed by the Export-Import Bank of China, the station project is generally contracted by China International Water & Electric Corp (CWE), which will be in charge of its engineering, procurement, and construction. SINOHYDRO BUREAU 1 Co is responsible for carrying out construction.

At the ceremony, Museveni expressed his gratitude to the Chinese and Ugandan employees of the project, and he thanked Chinese enterprises for their contribution to Uganda’s energy infrastructure construction and Chinese companies’ technologies, as well as the friendly attitude showed in the construction of the Isimba Hydroelectric Power Station.
