The Chinese embassy in Sri Lanka held a review meeting on May 31 regarding the support work after Sri Lanka's bomb attacks on April 21.
More than 50 representatives, including China's Ambassador to Sri Lanka Cheng Xueyuan, representatives from Chinese companies in Sri Lanka, overseas Chinese in the country, and volunteers participating in the follow-up work, attended the meeting.
Cheng expressed gratitude to relevant units and individuals for their help in assisting Sri Lanka locals after the attack. Sri Lanka is a key part of China's Belt and Road Initiative and China-Sri Lanka cooperation projects are currently in full swing.
Cheng expressed wishes for continuous joint efforts on the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, maintenance of the China-Sri Lanka partnership, and construction of a China-Sri Lanka shared sense of community.
In addition, Cheng issued thank-you letters to those units and individuals, including Chen Lvyi, a worker at POWERCHINA.
After Sri Lanka was hit by multiple deadly bombings, POWERCHINA's office in Sri Lanka immediately launched an emergency response plan and set up a command team, requiring the branch companies and project departments in the country to check on the situations affected by the attack.
