Danny Faure, president of the Republic of Seychelles, visited the construction site of the Lagosi Dam renovation project being undertaken by Sinohydro Bureau 9 Co, a subsidiary of POWERCHINA, on July 16. The project is designed to increase the height of the dam.
President Faure spoke highly of the overall project progress after inspecting engineering parts, such as the dam filling, the spillway steel-concrete structure, and the pipeline replacement.

The Lagosi Dam renovation project is the largest livelihood project that Seychelles has undertaken in recent years. It is also the first construction project of POWERCHINA's in the Seychelles market, which has solicited great attention from the local government, public, and media.
The president said that POWERCHINA is not only an internationally renowned enterprise, but also has strong construction technology and a history of high performance.
It is expected that POWERCHINA will further advance in the construction period, as well as maintain the current high quality standards and progress to ensure that the project is completed on schedule, he added.
During the inspection, the president's special economic adviser discussed the construction of the project as a representative of the Seychelles government with the construction unit. He listened to reports on the construction difficulties and the measures to be taken to overcome them.

The special economic adviser praised the achievements made by the construction unit, and expressed gratitude to POWERCHINA for its contribution to the infrastructure construction of Seychelles.
The Seychelles government pledged that they will do its utmost to help solve various difficulties encountered on the project.
Sinohydro Bureau 9 Co attaches great importance to the construction of the project. The company will work diligently to promote the implementation of the project, making positive contributions to the friendly relations between China and Seychelles.
