On Sept 6, the Consulate-General of China in Luang Parbang, Laos organized a summary meeting on the relief work of a serious traffic accident in Laos that took place on Aug 19.
At the meeting, Sinohydro Bureau 3 Co, Sinogydro Bureau 14 Co, and POWERCHINA Resources, subsidiaries of POWERCHINA, were awarded honorary certificates. In addition, 26 employees were commended.

Li Zhigong, Consul General of the Consulate-General of China in Luang Prabang, fully affirmed POWERCHINA for its scientific and emergency rescue work. The company made sure that all the wounded were treated in a timely and effective manner, the bodies of the victims were properly disposed, as well as that all the passenger luggage and property were properly collected and confirmed.
He also praised POWERCHINA for its responsible, powerful, and trustworthy spirit.
On Aug 19, a Lao tourist bus carrying 44 Chinese tourists had a serious traffic accident on the way from Vientiane to Luang Prabang.
With the coordinated command of the engineering headquarters of the China-Laos Railway of POWERCHINA, an emergency plan was immediately launched by Sinohydro Bureau 3 Co, Sinogydro Bureau 14 Co, and POWERCHINA Resources to rush to the scene for rescue.

After 16 hours of rescue, the Chinese tourists on the effected tourist bus had been found and properly resettled.
During the rescue, POWERCHINA demonstrated a sense of responsibility with practical actions, minimizing casualties and property damage.
