The Faita water distribution center project located in Nacala, a port city in Northeastern Mozambique, was praised by Mozambique President Felipe Nyusi as a timely solution for the city's residential water shortages on Nov 12, at the project's ribbon cutting ceremony which also signified the project's completion.

President Nyusi added that the project was significant to the usage of local water resources, as well as for the country's economic development and efforts to improve people's livelihoods.
Constructed by POWERCHINA's subsidiary Sinohydro Bureau 9 Co Ltd, the Faita water distribution center boasts state-of-the-art technologies and water-dispensing controls. It is considered one of the key public welfare projects in Mozambique.
During the ceremony, the president also observed the on-site operation of the pump motor control center (MCC) and performed the control himself under the guidance of Chinese workers from POWERCHINA before showing his gratitude to POWERCHINA's support and assistance in Mozambique.

Consisting of three basic modules of pump stations, chlorination rooms, and water pools, as well as other affiliated facilities, the Faita water distribution center is expected to not only improve water cleanliness, but greatly solve drinking water shortages in Nacala.
