The senator praised POWERCHINA during his visit to the project site on Nov 1, where he was accompanied by other delegates of the senate delegation and five major Pakistani media outlets, including ABB Tak TV.

The senator regarded the plant as the most competitive modern green power station in the country, as well as expressed his sincere thanks to POWERCHINA for their active participation in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor construction, after visiting the plant's production area, including its wharf, main workshop, and centralized control room.

During the meeting, POWERCHINA's project company spokesperson gave a brief introduction of the Qasim power plant, emphasizing the company's practices and achievements on fulfilling social responsibilities.

During the past few years, Pakistan struggled with severe power shortages, which further hindered the country's economic development. The Qasim project not only provides plenty of power to Pakistan but improves people's livelihoods, said the senator during the meeting.

Hussain Sayed also stressed that his delegation and present media outlets would let more people gain knowledge of the plant and its contributions to Pakistani economic development, in an effort to promote the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor development.

Since its launch, the Qasim Coal-fired Power Plant has been a calling card of the economic corridor due to its stimulation of local employment and tax contribution. The project will make full use of its role as an example to enhance the friendship between China and Pakistan.
