Water distribution center in Mozambique given green light to begin operations

Constructed by Sinohydro Bureau 9 Co, a subsidiary of POWERCHINA, the Nacala Water Distribution Center project in Mozambique passed inspections and was approved for use on May 14.

At the launch ceremony, the project department discussed China's experience in controlling the COVID-19 epidemic and the successful disease prevention measures adopted by management at the Nacala Water Distribution Center construction site.

The water distribution center is a key livelihood project in Nacala, Mozambique, and the first overseas comprehensive water supply development undertaken by Sinohydro Bureau 9 Co.

To complete the job, Sinohydro Bureau 9 Co built circular pools, water towers, electrical control systems and telemetry systems, and installed pipelines and a bridge crane. Since construction began, the project has been touted by the government in Nacala, with local media paying close attention to the development.

The Nacala Water Distribution Center will effectively alleviate water shortage problems for more than 80,000 local people, further improving their quality of life.
