Updated: June 04,2020

The power unit of Morowali Tsingshan Industrial Park in Indonesia was connected to the grid for power generation on May 26, with excellent technical indicators. The project is being completed by POWERCHINA SEPCO 1 Electric Power Construction Co, a subsidiary of POWERCHINA.

To ensure that the development is completed on schedule, POWERCHINA SEPCO 1 Electric Power Construction Co has worked closely with all parties since it launched on March 20, 2019. The company has overcome a variety of challenges, including tight schedules, limited construction personnel and the disruptive COVID-19 epidemic.

POWERCHINA SEPCO 1 Electric Power Construction Co has completed several major project nodes involving steam turbines, chemical cleaning and ignition blowpipes, laying a solid foundation for the power unit's connection to the grid.

Tsingshan Industrial Park is in Morowali county, central Sulawesi province, Indonesia, about 1 kilometer from the coast. The total planned area of the park is approximately 2,000 hectares.

The project has made use of the abundant nickel resources in the surrounding area, developing a complete industrial chain covering nickel mining to stainless steel hot rolling.

The industrial park will be a stainless steel production base. It will boast one of the world's most extensive stainless steel industrial chains, utilizing a steady flow of raw materials and high-tech facilities.

The construction of Tsingshan Industrial Park is of considerable significance to promoting economic cooperation between China and Indonesia, and between China and ASEAN, and can create tens of thousands of jobs in Indonesia.
