POWERCHINA wins bid for Kenya road project

The Municipal Engineering Co of POWERCHINA won the bid for the rural road upgrading project in West Pokot district, Kenya.

The project spans a total length of about 44 kilometers. The main construction task focuses on road construction, spanning standard pipe culverts, box culverts, bridges, road surfaces, as well as road drainage system upgrades.

The owner of the project is the Kenya Rural Highway Bureau and the funding comes from the Kenyan government. The construction period is 30 months, the maintenance period is 12 months, and the operation period is 36 months. After completion, it will greatly improve local traffic conditions and help economic development along the route.

The project is about 20 kilometers away from the 104 bid section of the rural highway contracted by the Municipal Engineering Co of POWERCHINA. It can make full use of the resources of the project under construction and give full play to the advantages of the project group management model to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
