The Kamchiq Hydropower Station in Uzbekistan, which was designed by Guiyang Engineering Co Ltd, POWERCHINA, was successfully connected to the grid for power generation, with electromechanical equipment operating normally and stably, as well as all performance indicators meeting specifications and operational requirements.
The Kamchiq Hydropower Station is located on the Ohangaron River in Namangan, Uzbekistan. It is a diversion type power station with a total installed capacity of 26.5MW. The civil construction and electromechanical installation of the project were completed by Joint-Stock Company Uzbekgidroenergo. Guiyang Engineering Co Ltd undertook the electromechanical design and technical services of the power station, as well as was responsible for the design, installation, and commissioning guidance.
The Kamchiq Hydropower Station is a project completed under the Sino-Uzbek energy cooperation agreement at the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.
During the implementation of the project, the various professional departments of Guiyang Engineering Co worked closely to overcome difficulties, including the impact of the tight construction, standard differences, and the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic, completing the design tasks with high-quality.
Four units have realized power generation, which effectively alleviated the power supply pressure on the grid during the COVID-19 epidemic.
