Xiong Lixin, vice general manager of POWERCHINA International Group and general manager of POWERCHINA's Eurasian regional headquarters paid a visit to Pakistan's new ambassador to China, Moin ul Haque, at his embassy in Beijing on Nov 13.
Xiong congratulated the envoy on his appointment and gave a briefing on POWERCHINA and its investments and projects in Pakistan.

He said China and Pakistan were firm friends and strategic partners. Xiong said that POWERCHINA -- as the chairman unit of the All-Pakistan Chinese Enterprises' Association – would continue to actively respond to the Belt and Road Initiative and closely follow the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
Xiong added that POWERCHINA would continue to give full play to the company's full industrial supply chain advantages, increase its investment in Pakistan and promote projects in various fields with related partners.
Pakistan's ambassador, for his part, welcomed the visit and expressed his gratitude to POWERCHINA for its contribution to the development of Pakistan.
He added that he would fully support POWERCHINA's business and the promotion of its projects in Pakistan.
He also specifically asked about operations at the Qasim Port coal-fired power plant project and Dawood wind power project funded by POWERCHINA in Pakistan, as well as the construction progress of the Diamer Bhasha dam project.
