The representative office of POWERCHINA in Mozambique and POWERCHINA's local project departments donated goods and necessities to communities and schools based on their needs for COVID-19 prevention and control.
The company donated ethyl alcohol, masks, hand sanitizer and other anti-epidemic goods to a local primary school, a community police station, and an orphanage from early to mid-December, in Maputo, where the 66kV transmission line project is located. It also presented schoolbags, stationery boxes, and footballs to schools and daily necessities to the orphanage.

The primary school's principal expressed sincere thanks to POWERCHINA for the donation, saying that the goods help the school’s epidemic prevention and control and ensure a safer and more stable environment for students.
The dean of the orphanage thanked the company for the generous donation. He said POWERCHINA's actions offer them both material and moral support, enabling the charity volunteers to continue their efforts in Africa with greater confidence.
A consulting person of the transmission line project spoke highly of the donation. Despite the difficulties in the performance of the project due to the epidemic, POWERCHINA strived to advance project construction as well as epidemic prevention and control in an orderly manner.
He said he is proud to work together with POWERCHINA, a contractor with a high sense of social responsibility.
POWERCHINA also donated epidemic prevention materials, daily supplies, and office and school supplies to the transportation police department, a primary school, and a maternal and child rescue station, on Dec 16 local time, in Nacala, where the company's Nacala distribution network restoration project is located.
Wang Cunping, in charge of the Nacala distribution network restoration project of POWERCHINA, thanked people from all walks of life for their support of the implementation of the project, and emphasized that POWERCHINA values the traditional friendship between China and Africa. POWERCHINA is ready to work with its African friends to overcome the difficulties together caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The assistant mayor of Nacala and head of the city's electricity bureau affirmed the donations, praising and recognizing POWERCHINA's role as an international contractor and saying it has integrated itself well into local communities.
During the outbreak of COVID-19, the goods donated by POWERCHINA have brought us great help, showing care and support from our old friend and partner China, said the recipients, hoping the project will be implemented smoothly in the future.
