POWERCHINA offers help in fire-fighting in Madagascar

Updated: December 28,2021

Personnel of a national highway construction project being built by the Sinohydro Bureau 14th Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of POWERCHINA, in Madagascar, helped the local community fight a fire that broke out at a farmer's market in Soanierana Ivongo, the starting point of the project, at 17:00 on Christmas Eve.

The fire was caused by a short circuit of wires and spread quickly, making the situation very urgent due to lack of fire-fighting equipment in the town.

As soon as they heard of the incident, project personnel immediately formed a rescue team and rushed to the scene. They worked with the local government and villagers, and helped open up fire barriers by operating excavators.

After nearly two hours of fierce fighting, the fire was controlled.
