He said that POWERCHINA is a global leader in the industry of clean and low-carbon energy and water resources and the participation in environmental conservation. It is a driving force and a leading enterprise in the building of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Ding noted that POWERCHINA is a builder in the development of Hong Kong since the handover and has leveraged the SAR's unique status as an international financial, shipping and trade center. He said the SAR has distinctive advantages from its close connection to the world market and its strong support from the motherland in advancing the creation of the BRI.

Ding stressed that young people loving both the country and Hong Kong are the hope and future of the SAR. He added that POWERCHINA will leverage its strengths and fulfill corporate social responsibilities to create more educational and employment opportunities for young people in Hong Kong. It will help them fully integrate within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, get involved in the BRI, and embrace the world.

The two-day summit was jointly held by the Hong Kong SAR Government and Hong Kong Trade and Development Council (HKTDC) with the theme "Heralding a New Chapter: Collaborate and Innovate" to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's handover to China.

It brought together important political and business leaders who discussed how to inject growth momentum into the world economy and make full use of Hong Kong's unique strengths in facilitating investment, trade cooperation among countries and regions involved in the BRI.
