Burundi, located in the heart of Africa, is known as the "land of a thousand hills". It has not put any power generation project into operation over the past 30 years, and the shortage of electricity severely restricts the region's economic growth.
The Ruzibazi Hydropower Station is the important project of its kind constructed with China's assistance. The project began on Oct 15, 2018. It completed the internal inspection and handover procedure on June 30, more than three months ahead of schedule.
