POWERCHINA together with the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia held a donation ceremony at Tegalluar Station of the Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway in Indonesia on Dec 14.
POWERCHINA donated food, beverages, daily necessities, and teaching equipment to primary schools and mosques along the high-speed railway to help local residents solve practical difficulties.
Lu Kang, Chinese ambassador to Indonesia, delivered a video speech at the donation ceremony，and said that the donation was to express gratitude and appreciation to the residents along the Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway for their cooperation and contributions to the railway construction.
He added that the railway is the first high-speed railway in Indonesia and even Southeast Asia, and it is also an iconic project for China-Indonesia cooperation within the Belt and Road Initiative.

Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway is 142 kilometers long and connects Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, and Bandung, the capital of West Java province. Once completed and opened to traffic, it will shorten the travel time between the two cities from more than 3 hours to just 40 minutes.
During the rail construction, POWERCHINA has established a good image as a Chinese-funded enterprise, created employment opportunities for the surrounding areas, and boosted the local socio-economic development.
