The first China-Nepal Friendship Dragon Boat Race is held at Phewa Lake in Nepal.

The first China-Nepal Friendship Dragon Boat Race was held at Phewa Lake in Nepal on June 23-24. The Chinese Embassy in Nepal, the Nepal Tourism Board, and the Pokhara Municipal Government organized this event.

POWERCHINA actively organized volunteers and participants to assist in the smooth operation of the event. Government officials, Chinese institutions, media representatives, and nearly 10,000 local citizens all gathered together and applauded the race.

One hundred and twenty participants from eight teams across China, Singapore, Nepal, and other countries competed in the friendly race. The races, which included 200-meter and 500-meter straight-line sprints, were held over two days, allowing more visitors to understand and appreciate the dragon boat culture, promote the inheritance and promotion of excellent Chinese traditional culture, and enhance Sino-Nepal friendship and exchange.

Despite the humid, scorching weather and the occasional rainfall, the volunteers actively lent their helping hands with various services to Chinese and foreign tourists who came to watch the races. These services included distributing cultural brochures about the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival, guiding participants to the venue, providing directions, distributing supplies, and maintaining order.

During the closing ceremony, Chen Song, ambassador of China to Nepal, expressed his gratitude to the Chinese and Nepalese communities for their support and efforts in the dragon boat race. He also expressed his hope that the friendship between the two countries will continue to grow.

POWERCHINA is set to also leverage its strengths to promote cultural exchange and mutual learning between China and Nepal.
