The Zungeru Hydropower Station is located on the Kaduna River, approximately 17 kilometers northeast of Zungeru town in Nigeria, about 150 kilometers from the capital city, Abuja.

The station has an installed capacity of 4×175 megawatts, generating an average annual output of 2.64 billion kilowatt-hours. The project commenced construction in May 2013 and was completed in August 2023.

The power station can save Nigeria approximately 680 million liters (570,000 tons) of diesel annually, equivalent to around $800 million. It will significantly alleviate Nigeria's electricity shortage, meet the electricity demands for national economic development, improve the standard of living for the people, and serve important functions such as flood control, irrigation, aquaculture, and navigation.
