The SKTM 233 MW Photovoltaic Power Plant.
The SKTM 233 MW Photovoltaic Power Plant is located in the heart of the Sahara Desert in southern Algeria.
The plant is currently the country's largest photovoltaic power plant, serving as the foundation for Algeria to realize its future national new energy strategy. It is also the first large-scale grid-connected photovoltaic power station in Africa.
It is divided into three sections and consists of sixteen power stations, and has a total installed capacity of 233 MW. The plant's engineering design, construction, equipment, and operation all adhere to Chinese standards.
The plant commenced construction in January 2014 and was completed in March 2018, providing annual electricity production that can meet the needs of approximately 200,000 households.
