The Ibri Photovoltaic Project.
The Ibri Photovoltaic Project, located approximately 30 kilometers northwest of Ibri in Oman, has a total installed capacity of 607 megawatts, covering an area of 1,154 hectares.
It is the world's first photovoltaic power project to employ cleaning robots and ground-mounted reflective film-enhanced back panel technology. Its substation design and equipment technology selection conform to local grid standards.
The project began construction in May 2020 and was completed in January 2022.
The project has an annual electricity production of 1,598 gigawatt-hours, which can meet the annual electricity needs of 50,000 local households. It also reduces carbon emissions by 340,000 metric tons per year.
This makes the project of great significance in diversifying the local energy structure, improving peak load grid regulation capacity, and mitigating peak power shortages in the Muscat and northern regions of Oman.
