A section of the Nzeto-Soyo Highway.
The Nzeto-Soyo Highway in Angola is the highest-grade highway in the country and stretches approximately 149 kilometers north-south. The southern end is approximately 360 kilometers from the capital city of Luanda, while the northern end is about 45 kilometers from Soyo.
Construction on the project commenced in September 2008 and was completed in February 2021.
The highway reduces the travel time from Nzeto to Soyo from 7 hours to less than 3 hours, greatly improving the transportation infrastructure along the route.
This development has stimulated local agriculture and commerce. The highway has become a crucial "artery" for oil transportation along the Angolan coast, connecting the north and south, and holds significant national strategic importance in promoting the country's economic development.
