The station began construction on Sept 2, 2010 and was completed on June 25, 2021.
The station is expected to contribute approximately 1 percent to Nepal's Gross Domestic Product, providing an opportunity to meet Nepal's electricity demand and export surplus power. It is also expected to help improve the national electrification level and industrial power supply, laying a solid foundation for the country's sustainable and green development.
