The Dawood Wind Power Project has a total installed capacity of 49.5 megawatts and is equipped with 33 Mingyang 1.5-megawatt wind turbines. It generates an annual output of around 130 million kilowatt-hours.
Construction on the project began in March 2015, and it commenced commercial operations in April 2017.
This project is part of the "Early Harvest Projects" list of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and was the first among the initial 14 projects on the list to secure financing and begin construction as a Chinese investment. Additionally, it marked POWERCHINA's first overseas investment in a new energy project.
The project's annual electricity generation benefits around 100,000 households in the local area, significantly alleviating Pakistan's local electricity supply-demand conflicts and contributing positively to the transformation of Pakistan's energy structure.
