On November 1, the 2013 Water and Electricity Conference, 2013 Academic Meeting of Chinese Association of Dams, and third International Seminar for Rock-Filled Dams was held in Kunming, Yunnan province. The third international milestone engineering project prize was unveiled at the conference. The prize was awarded to five projects, three of which were constructed by POWERCHINA, namely the Bakun Dam in Malaysia, the Jiudian Gorge Dam in China and the Nam Ngum 2 in Laos.
