South Sudanese Vice-President James Wani Igga attended the grand ceremony and expressed his genuine gratitude for the material assistance and continuous efforts of the Chinese government and Chinese enterprises, especially POWERCHINA.
According to him, the pioneering factory is part and parcel of the rehabilitation and reinforcement of the power distribution system in Juba, which will "bring electricity back and boost economic development."

"Juba will soon have an upgraded power distribution system and China is willing to share its reform and opening-up experience with South Sudan," said Liu Xiaodong, the charge d'affaires of the Chinese embassy to South Sudan.
Liu added that with the support from the South Sudan Government and the African Development Bank, POWERCHINA has been integrating multiple forces to facilitate engineering and procurement for the joint project.
In September, Beijing will hold a summit forum to look ahead to deeper China-Africa cooperation.
