After inspecting the project site on Aug 21, 2018, Zambian President Edgar Lungu spoke highly of the progress and quality of the KC45 Road in Zambia, a project undertaken by POWERCHINA's subsidiary Sinohydro Bureau 11 Co.

During his visit, the president was briefed on project information and construction progress. He indicated a high level of satisfaction towards the construction schedule, safety and labor management. He was also pleased with the joint efforts of the Chinese contractor and local subcontractors to build a bridge, part of the road project.

In addition, Lungu appreciated Sinohydro's participation in Zambia's infrastructure construction, as well as its experience sharing with local subcontractors, and expressed his desire for Sinohydro to continue efforts to maintain the construction schedule and quality, create more job opportunities, boost the economic prosperity of regions along the road, and propel local social development.

Sinohydro has striven to promote the Belt and Road Initiative and build model projects in foreign countries in order to forge a closer friendship between China and Zambia.
