A delegation led by Li Yanming, deputy general manager of POWERCHINA, paid a visit to Myanmar recently, meeting with Hong Liang, the Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar, on Nov 5, and U Win Khaing, Myanmar's Minister of Electricity and Energy, on Nov 6.

Hong welcomed the delegation and spoke highly of POWERCHINA's design, construction and operation capabilities, as well as its contribution to Myanmar's economic development through power, mining and infrastructure construction. He pledged strong support for POWERCHINA's current electric power project under development in Myanmar.
Li introduced POWERCHINA's businesses in Myanmar and extended his gratitude for the support of the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, expressing his wish for further business development and the promotion of industrial value chains in the country.
During the meeting with Myanmar's Minister of Electricity and Energy U Win Khaing, Li discussed his appreciation of the Myanmar government's support for POWERCHINA and briefed the minister on the company's global businesses.
POWERCHINA is a comprehensive construction and investment group with international competitiveness in energy electric power, water environment and infrastructures.
The company wants to play a positive role in the planning and construction of Myanmar's electric power, grid and water conservation, and contribute more to the country's economic and social development.
The minister praised POWERCHINA's professional competence and vowed to give full support to POWERCHINA's projects in Myanmar. The two sides also exchanged ideas and details for further projects.
