The President was briefed on construction difficulties caused by the rainy season. He also inspected the downstream filling area and the spillway construction area on the right bank.
President Faure had nothing but praise for the construction environment, safety management and quality of work on the project so far.
He said that the project is important for improving the quality of life in the Seychelles and is considered a major national project. The project is expected to largely alleviate problems related to residential water consumption, improve people's living standards and promote regional economic development.
He emphasized that all parties must vigorously promote the project and expressed his gratitude to Sinohydro Group for its contribution to the project.
The dam is located in the northern Seychelles. It is a key part of the Lagosi water distribution system of the Seychelles public utility company.

The project will consist of increasing the height of the existing dam, providing anti-seepage treatment to the south and north auxiliary dams, upgrading and renovating the water intake tower, building the right bank spillway and replacing all pipes and fittings in the water intake tower and tunnel.
The project is considered a major achievement of the "regionalization" and "localization" strategy of Sinohydro Bureau 9 Co Ltd.
It is also of great importance to the cooperation between China and Seychelles, and has laid a solid foundation for POWERCHINA to further develop international regional markets and expand its business abroad.
