The groundbreaking and budget approval ceremony of Zacarias Hospital project was held in Peru on June 21. The project is being built by POWERCHINA's subsidiary, Sinohydro Bureau 6 Co.
Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra and the minister of the Ministry of Health of Peru attended the ceremony.
The president said that the project is located in 24 impoverished areas in Peru. The Peruvian government attaches great importance to it. After its completion, the hospital will greatly improve medical services in the region, while creating a large number of jobs and promoting local economic development.

The minister of the Ministry of Health of Peru said that in the process of hospital construction, the local government will fully cooperate to accelerate the improvement of necessary infrastructure construction, such as highways, sanitary drainage system, and water supply system.
It is hoped that the construction units will work together with the local government to improve the medical conditions of local people, he added.
The Zacarias Hospital project is the fifth hospital implemented by the company after four hospitals in Ayacucho, Peru. It is another breakthrough for the company in the highly competitive overseas market.
The company will continue to actively respond to the national Belt and Road Initiative, and demonstrate high-quality international management with integrity on its projects.
