Afterwards, the teachers and students entered the plant area in an orderly manner. They visited the power plant chemical water workshop, boiler plant, centralized control room, steam turbine platform, electrostatic precipitation, desulfurization absorption tower, and coal yard.
The visitors praised the Port Qasim power plant for using very advanced technology in Pakistan. They were grateful that the power plant could provide them with an opportunity to study in the field.
They gained a deeper understanding of the technology of the 2x660MW supercritical coal-fired units, as well as a new understanding of the safety regulations, which will greatly help them to work at power plants in the future.
Under the Belt and Road Initiative, the Port Qasim power plant that was invested, designed, constructed, and operated by POWERCHINA has become a shining pearl in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, as well as a monument for the friendship between China and Pakistan.

As of June 26, the power plant had generated 11.469 billion kWh of electricity since the first unit began producing power, effectively improving the power shortage situation in Pakistan, as well as bringing substantial economic and social benefits.
In order to achieve localized management, POWERCHINA has recruited more than 100 Pakistani students from local universities and sent them to China for free to receive training on thermal power technology.
Currently, they have already taken up key positions and have become the main staff for equipment operation and maintenance at the power plant.
