The main construction projects of Beijing Daxing International Airport were completed as scheduled on June 30. The airfield runway project undertaken by POWERCHINA passed acceptance checks.
The smooth progress has provided a strong foundation for the airport to start operation before the end of September.
The airport is renowned as one of the "New Seven Wonders of the World." Upon completion, it will become the world's largest airport upon completion.

POWERCHINA undertook construction of the airport flight area runway project located in the northern half of the runway to the west of the terminal building, which is the nearest runway to the terminal building.
The runway where the world's largest aircraft can take off and land features the world's highest standards and highest quality in airport design and engineering.
The runway project included pavement engineering, earthwork engineering, drainage engineering in the airfield, foundation treatment engineering, the No 1 underpass, the lighting belt sinking, as well as flight area service facilities.
The airport started construction on Sept 18, 2015. The runway area was completed and passed final acceptance on April 30 this year.
Organized by the Civil Aviation Administration of China, large aircrafts of China's four major airlines made successful test flights at the airport on May 13.
