The Moroccan National Railways Office and Barid Al-Maghrib Group -- Morocco's postal service -- recently unveiled a new stamp featuring a high-speed rail project constructed by POWERCHINA.
The stamp was officially issued in November, raising the profile of the Moroccan Tangiers-Kenitra high speed rail project built by Sinohydro Bureau 5 Co, a subsidiary of POWERCHINA.
It is the first overseas high-speed railway contracted by Sinohydro Bureau 5 Co, and also the first high-speed railway in Africa.

With a total distance of about 350 kilometers, the line from Tangiers to Kenitra will have a top speed of 320 km per hour, greatly reducing the time between Tangiers and Casablanca from five hours to two hours.
During the construction period of the project, it provided more than 10,000 job opportunities for locals and during the operation period, it also provided more than 6,000 jobs for the local.
It has played an important role in promoting the economic and social development of Morocco.
It is also meeting the needs of power development, improving people's livelihoods, reducing soil erosion, protecting the environment, promoting tourism and driving the development of related industries.
