SEPCOIII Electric Power Construction Co, a subsidiary of POWERCHINA, signed an engineering procurement construction contract on Dec 4 with national power utility Saudi Electricity Company for the PP13 power plant project in Saudi Arabia.
The EPC contract further expands POWERCHINA's market presence in Saudi Arabia and the even Middle East.
It will help strengthen the company's leading position in the power engineering industry in Middle East, as an international EPC contractor.
Located about 140 kilometers west of the Saudi capital of Riyadh, the PP13 power plant project mainly includes six gas turbines, six waste heat boilers, two steam turbines and two air cooling islands. It has a net output of 1,960 megawatts.
It is the eighth large-scale engineering project done by SEPCOIII Electric Power Construction Co in form of an EPC in the Saudi market.
Since entering the Saudi market in 2009, the group has showcased its excellent industry chain resource integration capabilities, strong on-site execution capabilities and management systems on projects that meet international standards.
It has undertaken the long-term operation and maintenance of the Saudi Ras Al-Khair project, becoming the largest power station EPC general contractor in the Saudi market.
